Yeditepe University was established in 1996 by the Istanbul Foundation for Education and Culture (ISTEK). The university offers contemporary sciences and education based on the principles of Ataturk, renaissance and community service. It also aims to educate students and prepare them with technological skills and all the skills required in the modern business world, and make them aware of technical developments and global culture. Through advanced academic and training programmes, Yeditepe University offers education compatible with the age of technology and information.
Yeditepe University has about 77 undergraduate programs for undergraduate students. And 82 programs for master's students and 43 for doctoral students. The university also adopts English as a primary language of study.

Scientific research centers at Yeditepe University
Yeditepe University continues to conduct scientific research in its research and application centers, which include the following:
• Center for Applied Research and Information Systems: It works to develop scientific projects, by conducting theoretical and applied research and scientific studies in the field of information technology, which include: information systems, software development and application, communication systems and data transmission.
• Dental Medical Education and Research Practice Center: Focuses on education and scientific research activities related to oral and dental health services and patient service
• Pharmaceutical Research and Applications Center: It is concerned with conducting biopharmaceutical research in cooperation with universities, governmental and non-governmental organizations, in coordination with the University's College of Pharmacy
• Ophthalmology Research Center: It was established to provide the latest methods of diagnosing and treating eye diseases, conducting the latest scientific research, training distinguished ophthalmologists, and providing the necessary facilities for postgraduate students to continue their studies in the field of ophthalmology.
Stem Cell Center: With the support of the Istanbul Development Agency, the center was established to implement projects in the field of stem cells and gene therapy, as well as research and development in the areas of cancer treatment and aging diseases.
• Entrepreneurship Workshop: The workshop provides advisory and training services to students
Training, Research and Health Services Center: It aims to conduct scientific research in order to provide the most advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment, especially with regard to public health.
• Strategic Applications and Research Center: The center aims to analyze Turkish international relations, predict the future of these relations, and produce strategic political, military, social, economic, technological and cultural alternatives.
